About this website

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 October 2026

Brit in Poland is an independent project about exploring and understanding Poland. This page explains what information may be processed when you visit the website, contact us, subscribe to a newsletter, or choose to visit our community and other external services.

Who is responsible?

Brit in Poland is operated by its creator. For privacy enquiries or requests, contact britlivinginpoland@gmail.com. Further operator identification details will be supplied on request and should be confirmed before broad public launch.

Visiting the website and essential delivery

The website uses Cloudflare for hosting, content delivery, DNS and security. When you load a page, technical information such as your IP address, requested URLs, browser details, approximate location derived from your connection, and security-related signals may be processed to deliver and protect the site. Processing is generally based on our legitimate interest in operating a reliable and secure public website.

Website analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate website usage, such as page views, popular pages, referral sources and general performance. Cloudflare describes this service as privacy-focused and not requiring tracking cookies for its standard operation. Our aim is to understand which parts of Brit in Poland are useful, not to build advertising profiles of visitors. Analytics processing is based on our legitimate interest in improving the website, subject to applicable privacy and ePrivacy requirements.

See Cloudflare's privacy policy for further information.

Emails and enquiries

If you email us, we process the information you choose to send, such as your email address, name and message, to read and respond to your enquiry. Please do not send sensitive personal information unless necessary. We retain correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed to handle it and related follow-up, or where legal requirements apply.

Newsletters and Warsaw Global

The website links to Warsaw Global, where a newsletter subscription form is available. The form uses Brevo to process the details you submit for that newsletter. Subscription is voluntary, and you may unsubscribe through the link in newsletter emails. The information collected and specific subscription terms are described on the signup form; a Warsaw Global signup does not automatically subscribe you to a separate Brit in Poland newsletter.

See Brevo's privacy policy.

Videos, forum, and external websites

Some pages include embedded YouTube videos, and others link to YouTube, Rumble, Instagram, Facebook, X, Buy Me a Coffee, the separate Brit in Poland Discourse forum, and third-party resources. If you play an embedded video or follow an external link, that provider may process your information under its own privacy terms. Forum registration and participation are handled by Discourse rather than by this static website.

Cookies and browser storage

The main site's Cloudflare Web Analytics does not rely on traditional tracking cookies. Security services, embedded media, and third-party sites or forms may use cookies or other storage according to their settings. We do not use this page to claim that all third-party services are cookie-free. If we add new optional tracking or advertising tools, we will review the necessary consent and notice requirements first.

Sharing and international processing

Information is shared with service providers only where needed to operate the services described above, including Cloudflare, email services, and Brevo when a newsletter form is used. These services may process information outside Poland or the European Economic Area under their respective legal safeguards. We do not sell visitor personal information.

Retention and your rights

Technical logs and analytics information are held according to the relevant service settings and retention policies; correspondence is kept for as long as reasonably needed for its purpose. Subject to applicable law, you may ask about personal information relating to you and request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. You may also lodge a complaint with Poland's data protection authority, UODO.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website or its services change. The revision date at the top indicates the latest version.
